Welcome, Congrats and Enjoy![]()

update! Just pulled the tow ball off, the reason for the rear crack was because when fitting the tow pack they had to leave some of the plugs lose... so when the car flexed it had no anchor point and just snapped (tore) the rip in the rear panel. If you are thinking of fitting a tow pack it might be worth researching other ways to fit it without compromising that plastic panel (for the mps6).
am awaiting a phone call from various wreckers regarding a replacement rear section and a new front splitter.
does anyone have a link (or phone number) for new Mazda pieces? Thanks for the feed back and advice guys. those links are great Rogwick.

You might have to give Mazda Australia a ring and they can put your through OR ring up your local Mazda dealer and ask what the official part number is for the front splitter and maybe get a price. I've rang up Mazda plenty of times to ask for parts etc. They should have just about everything listed on a system. Unless you have a look online and you can find a part you need, something like this (just one that sells the front splitter! And is local!!)
StreetUnit.com - Premier MAZDA/MAZDASPEED SPECIALISTS
M P S - 6 - RR | K&N POD | CP-E CAI | TIP | ETS 3.25" TMIC | CP-E DP | 3" Zorst | K/Springs | Cp-e REM | 2XS SSP | SURE Countershift | DBA slotted Rotors | Corksport strut | Alpine Type S 12" sub MRP-M500 Amp
| Custom Grille | STi Front Lip | Shark Fin | 8000K HID | Custom Decals & Badges | Twin DEFI gauges | LED lighting | CF Mirrors | Black rims Red callipers
With great power comes great fuel consumption...

If you want to replace these parts, the parts department of your nearest Mazda dealer will probably give you the best result.
The front splitter comes in 3 pieces. The reference numbers are 51-9LO ($47-50), 51-9KO ($47-50) and 51-9J1A ($97). I'd also recommend replacing some (8) of the screw plugs 50-022B. You'll also need some special rivets to assemble the lip, 51-833, from memory I think there are 7 of them. As a rough guide I've included the prices I paid for these parts last year.

Good luck with the fix ups. Good way to learn about your car as well.
I agree when you say this forum rocks. No issues with answering questions, even noob ones like I ask.
Put up some picks when you're happy it's clean enough. Other members here don't worry too much about it...;-p
Enjoy!

Washed the car today, it looks great. I posted some pics on the my ride forum

I have one sitting int he shed that I had in my WRX it has the G-force sensor which was kind of fun... seeing how many G's you can pull around a corner. if you have one a pic would be appreciated and any fitting tips.
