    1963 Chevrolet Corvette
A sports car is a term used to describe a class of automobile. The exact definition varies, [1] but generally it is used to refer to a low to ground, light weight vehicle with a powerful engine. Most vehicles referred to as sports cars are rear-wheel drive, have two seats, two doors, and are designed for more precise handling, acceleration, and aesthetics. A sports car's dominant considerations can be superior road handling, braking, maneuverability, low weight, and high power, rather than passenger space, comfort, and fuel economy.
Sports cars can be either luxurious[2] or spartan, but driving mechanical performance is the key attraction. Many drivers regard brand name and the subsequent racing reputation and history as important indications of sporting quality (for example, Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus), but some brands, such as Lamborghini, which do not race or build racing cars, are also highly regarded.
A car may be a sporting automobile without being a sports car. Performance modifications of regular, production cars, such as sport compacts, sports sedans, muscle cars, hot hatches and the like, generally are not considered sports cars, yet share traits common to sports cars. They are sometimes called "sports cars" for marketing purposes for increased advertising and promotional purposes.[3] Performance cars of all configurations are grouped as Sports and Grand tourer cars, or, occasionally, as performance cars.
A sports car does not require a large, powerful engine, though many do have them. Many classic British sports cars lacked powerful engines, but were known for exceptional handling due to light weight, a well-engineered, balanced chassis, and modern suspension (for example, Lotus Seven, Austin 7 Speedy). On tight, twisting roads, such a sports car may perform more effectively than a heavier, more powerful car.

    (Redirected from Mazdaspeed 3)

The Mazdaspeed3 or Mazdaspeed Axela is a sport compact hatchbackintroduced by Mazdaspeed for the 2007 model year, as a performance-enhanced version of the Mazda3. Mazda unveiled the Mazda3 MPS at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show in February. The same model will be sold in North America as the Mazdaspeed3 and as the Mazdaspeed Axela in Japan. Pricing is to start at US$ 22,835 (including destination) and it is designed to compete with the latest generation of hot hatches, including the Dodge Caliber SRT-4, and the new Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit GTI.

I fail to see how the MPS3 can put down better times in a straight line and around a track than the MPS6 and be considered an inferior car

I would love to come on next cruise... some 1 update me with a when and where and ill try my best to attend. In all honesty i don't really care about the 6v3 (notice the 6 came first, lol) crap, and the 6 is a family car, thats why i brought it, it is also closer to a sports vehicle than the 3 is, so would you not want it. HA HA HA, stab stab. Be dammed if i was gettting a tarrago troop carrier. MPS fits my family perfectly and i can remove all trace of the kids with in 10min. AWESOME. It then becomes my mountain hugging speed machine!

You 3 owners say the 6 is a glorified sedan, well i think your 3 is a glorified SP23. Its the same, you just got a lil baby turbo added in, at least we got more extras to separate us from the pack.

Also go the chicks! Love to see you all cause we rock! I hope no guys own the 6 in RED cause that is such a chicks color, i call it lipstick red. lol. I have seen a few guys driving it, it honestly looks like they took the wife's car out. HA HA HA, the purple or silva is for the guys.

Speed is not everything, simple... we get more than you do, u only go faster cause your lighter... if you had a full tank i had a near empty 1, it would be a very interesting race.

    Some extras....hmm

18" alloys and HID are extras....

I think the same extras that are on a 6MPS over a luxury 6.

Which ever way you look at it...

Its obvious the 3MPS was sportier...they no longer make the 6MPS and the 3MPS will have a new model mid next year...

Hatches can be sports cars, as mentioned before the WRX, but that's only because it was built as a road going Rally Car, hence it's AWD!

On the other hand a front wheel drive hatch with a turbo strapped to it, where they have to limit the torque through 1st and 2nd gears so it can get around sharp bends....hmmmm not so sure!

If the 3MPS was RWD or AWD....I'd change my mind! 6MPS is the all weather sports sedan, whether it's dry or monsoonal.....it just Grips and Goes!

Your forgetting the AWD, oh and the fact that we could actually get our cars in full leather, not leather trim with cloth seats... POO, in 10years your seats are gonna smell like a cats bum. GL. Plus our trade in will be better than yours, as our car could appeal to more people..... honestly if you like the 3 mps you should have brought a wrx like every other person.

Im sure there are a few other things, but i don't wanna list em incase im wron and its too early to do research before posting... *shinslinger* wanna take ova the list of pros?

Gee didn't they flop on the new wrx........

Reality is quite the opposite...dealers can't give their used 6 MPS's away, 3 MPS's are snapped up very quickly. The 3 MPS is maintaining far higher residual values (as a % of original purchase price) than the 6 MPS.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, that's great news for those seeking a bargain, bad if you're a 6 MPS owner trying to sell...

I find your statements offending. Regardless of whether we drive a 3 or a 6, they're both Mazdas, just incase you've forgotten.:gtfo:

Offending..........u are the one that needs to . Can i not express my opinion?

I am glad that the 3 owners at least own a mazda, but seems to me that people brought it for the same reasons WRX owners buy their cars... simply i think that you get more from a WRX than a 3 MPS. Yes they are both not the best looking cars around but i guess at least no every1 on the planet has a 3 MPS.

And as if i have forgotten that they are both Mazdas, you really have no idea who your talking to, i can see future post conflicts between us if thats your view, lighten up, i was only expressing my opion, it not like i said "i hate all mazda's except mine".

    guys

We dont need the arguements on this forum.

I will be keeping an eye on things.

We all own mazdas, whether it be a 121, 626, Mazda3 Neo etc.

We choose our cars and the shape of them for different reasons.
