Hey,
Not sure if anyone else has done this, but I thought I'd try it.
Started when I picked up a cheap unused BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox off eBay, after which I grabbed a Cobb TIP & SRI. Mounting it wasn't as straight forward as I thought, but I got there in the end, albeit a very tight fit; couldn't fit the flexipipe in unfortuantely. The idea was to minimise the heatsoak with low risk of hydrolock.
I ran the Standard Cobb pod filter initially, the heatsoak was noticeable at the height of summer in Brisbane and the turbo spun up nicely. Once I finally worked out how to get the BMC CDA in I installed it. The heatsoak isn't as severe and the turbo doesn't spin up as freely as the pod filter, but I think it's a little bit more torquey and I prefer the sound; it's quieter but gives you that throaty note.
It's my only mod thus far and I thought I'd share it as a point of interest.
Cheers
