This might sound a bit crazy...but I just had this idea.
After sorting out the O2 sensor bung, and hopefully changing the P2096 into a P0421, try wrapping the catalytic converter in exhaust heat wrap or even upstream of it. The aim of this would be to keep the temps high going into the cat.
Might be worth a shot before swapping the cat out.

There are mixed results Dan on the thermal wrap, worth a shot rather than changing a new CAT, it takes prolonged P2096 to foul it.
Yea something that helps the cat warm up quicker could help, P0421 is a warm up efficiency code after all.
End of the day, I don't care if I have a P0421 re-occur on me, it is a completely harmless code. P2096 is potentially masking a more serious issue so I would rather have it go back to the way it was.

Yup, spot on Reedy P2096 is a issue whereas P0421 is harmless.
Hopefully, troy can reweld another bung for me this saturday.
