Default Probably asked a few times, Need help with exhaust system for Gen 2 3mps

Quite new to the Mps scene and was considering to kick start off my first mod as a tbe. im looking for some help with exhaust systems for gen 2 3mps. i was thinking of a custom set up but i think i'd rather stick for a trusted brand, looking at some of the threads im guessing cpe is the way to go? would appreciate some info or help on cpe other brands

Depends what sort of result you're after mate, stainless exhausts can be expensive, loud and also droney. Have you a budget in mind? You also might want to consider a downpipe making it a turbo-back exhaust for the best result in both sound and performance. Since that may be your first mod, getting an intake will also assist in producing more power as the stock filtration system (OEM box) has higher resistance therefore requires more effort to intake air.

Fezaaa said in the first post he was thinking of a TBE (turbo back exhaust) so I think he does want a downpipe

    2SX - located in melbourne
rogwick- dont realy have a budget in mind but want to avoid poor quality stuff but also just like everyone else wouldnt want to be paying a ridiculos price, i was actually thinking of a downpipe, prefer performance over noise, i prefer to get the expensive mod (being the exhaust) out of the way first befor looking into intake, just dont have a clue whats reccomended or reliable for mps's

I know this is completely different but if you wish to see some shots of the downpipe installed check out my thread (click the RR link on my sig). If you read the write-up I have for my exhaust I have a mild steel set-up, cheaper, not too noisy and minimal drone. Stainless is generally louder and more expensive (as mentioned in the last post), however it does sound pretty good. I have known a few members to get the CP-E SS catback, and then supersede it with a mild steel due to being "too much" so it depends what you like. I have two resonators on mine so she's pretty quite on idle and not over the top on WOT, but you definitely know it's there!

I also have rough pricing (I think) mentioned, but yours may differ a little. Basically you want a DP that won't incur a CEL. CP-E is a reasonable bet but there are others such as best mufflers etc (I think it was mentioned above) I would go for a product that members have installed on their vehicle, that way, a good guide to it being no problem on your ride.

well, in terms of dump pipes, for a gen 2, i would suggest 2XS/CES:
2XS/CES DPs and systems they're CEL free and a locally made/sourced product which is always good (unfortunately BM isnt just yet...)
opinion here: CES/2XS DP - Simply awesome

other option is the CPE from mpsgarage: http://www.mpsgarage.com.au/shop/sea...2-exhaust.html

not sure if they have got the full system yet... HPF might be able to do the work for you, need confirmation from the melb guys about this though... else im sure Grayj can suggest the place he works

I'd suggest HPF. Us Melb folks are having a dyno day there on the 20th. You should come along and chat to them about it:

+1 for the 2XS/CES Racing by the way. Seems to be one of the best sorted setups for the GenIIs so far. A lot of R&D has gone into them.

Plus they're made right here in Aus
