Default Difference with the CP-e CAI for a Gen I or Gen II

    Hey guys

I had a Gen I Mazdaspeed 3, with the CP-e Xcel CAI kit on it, loved it, sold the car now and have a GEN II but noticed the part number for the GEN II version of the intake is different on CP-e's website, does this mean i shouldnt fit the one i have? should i look at getting the new revised one?

    who told u this??

there was huge debate about this in the u.s forums. A few ppl got confirmation from CP-e that Gen 1 intakes will work fine on Gen 2.

Like i said b4, ive had mine for the last 35k with no issues or CELS.

EDIT: i would take what the u.s doods say with a grain of salt....theyre a lot of misconceptions out there about various parts (i.e the need for a fuel pump),and other issues

I have a Cp-e CAI on my Gen II, far as I know its exactly the same as the Gen I one.

Only CEL i've ever had is Downpipe related.

Don't the Gen I and Gen II have different MAF sizes stock? (Different again to the 6, which is 68mm?)

Got confirmation back from CP-e, so all good

    Hi Michael,

Good news, they are the same part, we have them listed as different part numbers to track sales.

    Thanks,

    Sander Marques
