Plastic to Plastic bonding...

Does anyone know what would be the best way to bond plastic to plastic? I am looking to custom mount my ScanGauge but I need to take the mounting points from the front panel of the ScanGauge and mount them on a plastic surface.

Doesn't have to be pretty as its hidden behind the panel but it just needs to be pretty solid.

Some sort of resin would be in order I'd say. I wish I could remember more than 10 years ago at school. We did this very thing in wood work (yes, we worked with plastics too). I just can't remember what it's called!!

What about super glue?

I have tried a hot glue gun on "mazda" plastic before and it held but I fear it might to hold enough...remember the ScanGauge has buttons and buttons are pushed so that force might be enough to dislodge whatever is glued so I was looking for something with a bit more hold.

Thats an idea Rowan, I might see how super glue goes...I still have to send my ScanGauge away anyway to get the firmware upgraded and the LEDs fixed.

A good epoxy resin should work well and probably better than Supa Glue, (Araldite or similar), just remember to mix the two parts evenly, if not then it won't bond correctly, and clean the surface thoroughly before applying (meths or similar)

it's a powder and glue so you can reinforce it aswell
