Did anyone else have a slight dyslexic moment when reading the title to this thread...?

I would usually do mine at service intervals.

what kind of oil can you use for lubricating the parts. Can you use engine oil or is it better to use just general purpose oil

I just got in the habit of using engine oil as the bottle is conveniently located just behind my bench in the garage, I believe you can use just about any oil though, if I recall Turbosmart sell a branded oil for their valves, as I mentioned you only need a tiny drop to lubricate the piston, so I cant see any harm coming from using alternative oils.

Highly recommended if you have never done it.

Made a good difference for me, now it opens and closes sharp, it was getting a bit slow and sticky before service.

    Cheers Matt!
