    You might also need to be aware that 245's of any size may rub on the front strut if you use a 50+ offset wheel

    ^true. This is why I've got 225/40 at the front. But not all people are keen on a staggered fitment. If you're picking one size all round I'd go 235/40.

    Thanks Tom, appreciate the reply. I do agree that 245/35 will have less sidewall flex, but I don't want it to be stiff. I'll play around with a spare 245/40 tyre I have stored in the garage. I'll put it under the fender to gauge what kind of work and offset I'd need.

    My backup is 235/40/18

    I am not 100% sure, but 245 would likely need a +45 or less offset, and some serious guard rolling to fit.

    245 will just fit under a Gen 2 guard with an 8.5" rim at +45 offset.
