    Depends if he wants it lowered or not. if your'e sticking with stock springs then B6 are fine, but you'll need lowering springs with B8. What do you want?

    Yes I did pick up on that B8's required lowered springs, and that is not what I want. Too many speed humps on the looong driveway into work plus steep(ish) drive at home.

    So it will be B6's for me.

    The other thing that may not be appreciated is that if you do go with B6, you can still lower the car to a degree with no problems at all. The "degree" depends on the car in question to a large extent. I know for the Rx8 you can drop as much as 3cm on B6's; more than that B8's are needed.
