Hello all,
I became the first person to fit the mps3 teins to my xr5. Been playing around with the settings as im due for an event at eastern creek shortly. I have found that due to my car being lift off oversteer happy..a much softer setting on the rear seems feasable.
Anyone know the weight distribution F + R on the mps and xr5? I want to be able to set it up relatively stock and work from there.

Dont lift off, oh thats right, you are driving an XR5 afterall, are you running aftermarket sway bars? and can they be adjusted to a softer setting, that will make a huge difference to the snap oversteer you are experiencing.
So it was your XR5 that Tony was telling me about last week, he was trying to talk me into the other set that he was getting in, but I thought the spring rates were probably a bit hefty for everyday use, particularly for those times when I have the family in the car, I hear they are a great unit none the less. Keep us posted with your feedback on them, I am going the H&R option on mine, not adjustable, or quite as heavily sprung, but have progressive springs so will hopefully be a happy medium between comfort and performance.

Matt I honestly think you should get them. The softer 4 settings are actually softer than you think. Even with the spring rates as they are.
Yes I have after a market sway bar and the rear is on the soft setting. Ive ordered a front sway bar to counter this somewhat.
Hehe, there a few twistie I have to lift off mid corner if I come in just right. BUt its now a bit more tail happy if i leave it neutral. One or two steps softer in the rear did the trick. I have an LSD also.
Just interested to know what settings if any people have tried on these. I have found a few set ups i like.
Currently u have it on 10 F 11 R for the worst be roads in history. Its actually softer than the lowering springs i used to have on. Mid range settings are firm and i havent had smooth enough tarmac to go harder just yet.

Ive already ordered the H&R's, although in my research on the various brands of coilover I have noticed 2 distinct variations in spring rates between the Jap brands versus the Euro brands, the Euro spec coilovers match the stock spring balance so to speak, i.e stiffer spring rate in the front, softer in the rear, the jap specs seem to have this the other way around with stiff rear springs and the softer springs in the front, which would also explain why your car is a bit tail happy now.
Although this is mostly info from researching various forums etc, so it may not be entirely correct.
