Unfortunately no love for the 6. Can do an Eibach Pro Kit, $559, but no luck on the shocks at all...

Would this be the same price for a normal Mazda 3? Non-MPS

    hey Greg

I ve bought products off you when I had a Laser Tx3. Im definitely interested in the Bilstein eibach Combo now that I have a MPS 3.

Only issue I ve found in the past is finding the right product to suit my needs has resulted in a lot of trial and error and expense to find what suits me and what i want the car to do ie different suspension components and brands from whiteline to KONI to custom made spring rates and caster camber plates. I want my MPS to be lower slightly, tolerable loss of ride comfort for dramatically improved handling and stability for very spirited driving on sweeping bends at freeway speeds and well controlled handling on twisty roads with quick directional changes. Cost obviously is a factor but am always prepared to pay for the best quality product for a given price level for example KONI vs bilstein

That's Bilstein/Eibach in a nutshell... Eibach is the pick of the springs available, and will slower it slightly.

Bilstein aren't adjustable, but will be more dialed in than most other shocks. To get something better than that combo you'd be looking upwards of $3k on DMS.

Koni is an option, the billies are probably a better overall shock, but the Koni Yellows are adjustable. Price on the deal with Koni Yellows would be the same, or else could also do Koni FSD for an extra $70.

Bilstein used to list the BE5-A256,7,8 for both the M6 and MPS6, but now only list them for the M6. There are a few guys running these in their MPS6's in the US and retailers over there are still selling them as suitable for MPS6.

Do you have any insight to why they stopped listing them for the MPS6? I'm tempted to just use them in the MPS anyway given that others are running them successfully.

    Hi mate,

Bilstein now only bring in the B8 Version (which are a better shock than B6). Same as above, but 259-261.

Fronts and rears are all $252 each.

Spoke to them about it, and no idea why they de-listed the MPS...

    Regards,
    Greg

Thanks Greg. A few more questions for you:

Would the 259, 260 retain the same ride height in terms of spring platform position? Is it correct they are more suited to a lowered spring than the B6?

$252 is not a bad price, does that include gst/freight?

    Exact answer back from Bilstein:

The Bilsteins will handle STD or lowered coils e.g., FE2 height
Spring platforms will be in the same position
The ride height would be working off what coils you put in.

Thanks Greg. Sounds good. Are they in stock?

Can you recommend a linear rate spring to go with the Bilsteins?

They're currently on a boat! Will be available end of next week. The Bilstein will need to be an application specific spring, so you're not going to have too much choice on spring rates. Anything from stock to slightly lower (read: harder) springs will work fine with them.

I now have the Bilstein B8 & Eibach Pro Kit combo on my 2007 MX5.

Absolutely fantastic, handling is amazing. HIGHLY recommended. If your'e after fantastic handling at no expense to comfort then this is a brilliant solution.
