Yeah that's the correct depth: 3.5 inches I think. It's gonna be huge!!! They closed the bonnet on it so it seems to fit OK.
I wonder if it might be too efficient? Hope it doesn't put us into boost-cut territory.

Mal, can you send me the dinensions, i have an ETS 3.5 fitted and it does rub a bit as you can see in that last picture, just somthing to be aware of.
You can see the rubbing in the last picture,

Faster than swallowtails Passat...and it has a letterbox

Sorry mate I don't have the dimensions.

No stress.

I thought ETS had discontinued the 3.5" core due to the rubbing, and the fact that no gains were recorded between that and the 3.25" core, primarily due to the reduction of breathing space above the core.
Look forward to seeing how this one goes Mal.

It has been discountinued due to the rubbing. Gains, some think more, some agree with no difference - either way its night and day when compared to stock!

Perhaps the 3.5 would work better on the new MPS3 with the bonnet scoop?

perhaps...
wasn't the issue with the 3.5 knocking also ? unless you had the REM swapped to something better ?
I would really love to see a much lighter duct replacement made up.. that would yeild some serious weight drop i rekon... in the process that could accommodate the 3.5inch..
not for these guys though.. lol

Here's something to keep everybody keen......
Hyperflow have decided that a 3" core is all they can fit height wise without having rubbing issues. 360x400x76mm is the designed core size however it's wider and longer than the ETS so it has more surface area overall.
Now some CAD pictures:
