I've taken both resonators off my mazda 3 mps about a week ago, now the engine light is coming on. Is this likely to be related to the resonator delete?? or could it be something else? Has anyone had this happen to them??

How much of the exhaust did you take off to remove the centre resnator? did you undo any O2 sensors?
I know the Gen2 has 2 sensors on the DP but unsure if the Gen1 has any different ones elsewhere.
Im not sure how much removed, I just took it to an echaust place and asked them to remove both resonators. Now the engine light has switched off and the car sounds a bit louder. Think ECU was adjusting ?
