I would love to see this available as an aftermarket kit for suitable front wheel drive vehicles such as ..... mine!
It really looks as though it would be very simple to install mechanically. Access to the CAN bus is not so difficult. Comes with controller that could be calibrated to suit. takes input from SWAS and ABS rings, throttle etc.
electrically boosts first gear and holds your speed through the shift to second. Provides some of the traction and handling benefits of AWD in a fuel saving package. Regenerative brake-steer and torque vectoring, albeit at lower power levels...handling aids nonethe less. Operates beneath the DSC thresholds.
Weight penalty = 80Kg. Put it over the rear axle, and it'd improve the 3's weight distribution(?)!
