Thread: Dealership servicing?

so if you blow a turbo a genuine turbo plus labour will be $2K plus.
Genuine Mazda turbo for the MPS is $3000 alone. Labour about $800 and a bit more for adhoc parts (gaskets, oil, bolts).

Dealership service is a good thing to have. My turbo became smokey and my dealership put in the request for it to be fixed under warranty. Unfortunatly it was turned down and i was told the main reason was that the car was out of warranty (despite being a known issue), had been serviced elsewhere (still stamped logbook), and I was also not the original owner. It would have been looked more favouably apon by the Case Manager if it was a full Mazda service history.

(No i didn't pay for a genuine turbo... but i did get a quote from the dealership for it).

Also, some car manufacturers (possibly Mazda included) use specialist gear to zone in exact issues and log the history over time. If you go elsewhere they might miss stuff.
I also don't see the point in initally shelling out thousands of dollars buying the car and then not forking out around 1% of that cost for a clean bill of health for your car.
I agree, It is money well spent for good servicing. Disagree that Mazda is always the best. I have a 5 page report from TuneHouse that says otherwise.
Find a good dealer and stick with them (Try looking at the dealer review thread for info) or find a good service centre full stop.

Dont expect every Mazda dealer to be 'good'. The first one I used was complete rubbish (PM Me - I am not going to publicly post it). The second (Tom Kerr) was GREAT.

Not even worth the paper it is written on. Read the fine print - absolute rubbish.
Its a clever ploy to make you service with the one dealership, if it was worthwhile it would apply to all MAZDA dealers - not just the one you purchased from.

As above. The extended warranty is absolutely rubbish. If this was under factory warranty and they refused id be calling Mazda Aust ASAP, they have to PROVE that there is some genuine reason why it would not be replaced... especially if it was stock. Does not matter if you are not the first owner - warranty is transferable, and service history is fine as long as they are an authorised service centre (to do log book servicing).

+1 , as Tony from Tunehouse said..."Dealerships hates seeing Tunehouse service reports!"
