Nope. Dealer told him not to worry. Just dont dump the clutch at redline ( not in those exact words).
He did run it in though, against a MPS and i think an evo 7 a day after he got it

Fuel is a big factor with these cars, i swear by BP Ultimate.
Also, how loud you have the stereo up make massive differences to car performance, you'll find a car fueled by Accadacca is way way faster than a transvision vamp powered car. Hence why WRX is so slow...Boyzone or Take That robs about 50KW ATW.
yeah the run in of a vehicle is an interesting topic. me i was told by dealer to 'not baby it' drive it how you normaly would and let it drive at idfferent rpm's . only thing was to not sit on one speed for extended times. i to notice at times car feels a little sluggish. one day its off like a rocket and some days it just feels like its missing the rocket personality. then the next day its a rocket again.

I've also been advised to avoid long periods of consistent cruising speeds and to vary this, also not to be too hard on the brakes, to allow the new pads to bed in properly. New motors are always a little tight, so probably avoid consistent high RPM launches etc until things have had a chance to wear in.
Alot has changed with engines these days, including the oil we put in them. I remember when I got my MY02 bug-eyed Sti late 2001, I was told to take it easy for the first 5000km, then drive it like I stole it. I wonder what the run in will be for my new one...?
They are pre run in anyways....
So I just drove it that same way I drive it now..and no problems with 90000 on the clock.
