Mazda 6 Turbo upgrade

hey guys

I was getting grief yesterday by some panel and paint people yesterday that my MPS 6 is pretty much a ford mondeo well at least the engine side any way !

this got me thinking and I was wondering if its possible to bolt on a turbo of and XR6 Turbo has anybody had a look at doing this

When re doing the turbo in a MPS6 or 3 what else has to be done apart from internal re tune and you intercooler ??? who has been down this rocky path and has some advice ?

based on the fact it's a 3582, i think you would need to do a hell of a lot of work on it
What model turbo is used on a FG XR6 Turbo, need a/r's etc - www.fordmods.com

snertspeed had a gt35 (i think)
troy had a 2876
mps2nv has a 3071
luke has a 3076

you would be looking at a full engine rebuild... forged internal etc

also, mondeo = 4 cyl fwd, xr5 mondeo = turbo 5, fwd
6mps = turbo 4, awd

Our car is closer to the volvo S60

[2XS]

Focus and Mondeo (non XR5) are 4 cylinder
XR5 models are turbo 5 cylinders. Same as Volvo S40
All built on the same paltform as the 3 (incl MPS)

The 6 would be slightly different.

The question is, how far do you want to go with your car?
Snertspeed, Luke and MPS2NV all have/had built motors. I didn't.
