Default Out of action, not by choice...

Here I was thinking here's my chance to look forward to leaving 2011
behind and starting a new year with big plans and lots of motivation.

I can now throw that idea out the window, an opposing player on Thursday
decided to tackle me in indoor soccer, putting me into the brick wall and in turn
Resulting in a shattered my knee bone.

We were both running for the ball that was in the corner, I got in front, put
both my hands on the wall for a bit of security and it seems like this guy just
just decided to keep going. My right knee was the first point of contact and I didnt
think much of it until I looked down and got the fright of my life. I could see my
knee bone in two bits, split down the middle. Collapse and starting shouting like a looney.

Had to wait A day and a half for surgery after they tried to run me through under public health
after we had mentioned countless times that I had private health care and I wanted a doctor with
    experience to perform the rebuild.

The public health system is a joke, so is Charlie Gardiners Hospital. Also this iPad is pissing me off, but I will deal with that. I was told by one nurse that i would need to put my full weight on my damaged leg so they could do stays, I went into shock again and they had to give me morphine. One he'll of a drug by the way!!! So I am now pretty much bed ridden until I can get the pain under control.

Nice, there is a word limit on this, part 2 shortly

I've been told I won't have use of the leg for about 6 weeks, between annual leave and sick pay, I'm off work until 6 th January. I will then try and get back to work for half days and see how I go. To top off bad luck, I have recently received an email of opportunity of employment with an audio visual installation company. I had 3 work
Party's this weekend, that I now can't attend and I had also lined up workmwith the Perth concert hall for January(double time pay on Sunday's)

Surely things can't get much worse.

I've got 2 weddings and a holiday next year too... I think I can safely say this is by far my worse injury to date.

By the way can someone please tell me how I cut and paste on a iPad, I'd like to let the guys across the road know...

I don't know why this has double posted, but I'm also going to blame that on the iPad.

Have copy and pasted this, in case anyone is wondering

Sorry to hear of the unfortunate accident Matty, pretty wreckless of the other soccer player! That would be annoying! I got lucky when I wrote off my motorcycle. Smashed my knee pretty hard at 50kmph with the weight of myself and bike. Luckily I wasn't able to walk for a couple of days and limp for a couple of weeks and all was good after that, nothing broken. Hope you get better soon. Sucks to miss all the good events coming up for you!

Mate, I can speak from my experience this year, I have had a bad run with injuries. I fractured my right wrist in April and only 8 weeks ago broke 4 bones in my lower back and fractured a vertabrea.

It's frustrating and unfortunate I know but it's important to be positive during the recovery and set yourself goals that you can achieve during your recovery.

Trust me there will be more work parties and weddings in the future.

    Very sorry to hear mate.

For cut/paste, press and hold your finger on a word while editing so you see the magnifying glass, then lift your finger and choose "select" it should highlight the area in blue

and you can resize the area by holding your finger down on the little blue balls (lol) and repositioning etc. then you can tap cut/copy etc

Thank god it's only your knee, I thought something had happened to your car.

Mate I'm sure the nurses will take good care of you. I've had post-op morphine myself and it's like being in a fairy tale. See, there's always a positive side.

    All the best Matty.

Man I've seen a few of those in my life wanting to start a new year off, Matt I hope you a quick recovery... Man I would love some morphine, my local doctor won't give me Cortisone shots for my shoulder in Darwin like my local doctor in Brisbane Damn you ..
Like sand in the hour glass are the days of my life.

I like this blaming the iPad thing

On a more serious note, that sucks big time: (
Hope they have a better selection of nurses than I did for all my hospital visits
Hope you get to go home soon, hospitals are a horrible place to be, even at the best of times...

Dont feel down about the Xmas party, and with the letter of opportunity, tell them you would love to accept, but explain the circumstances, you might get a positive response from them still

Have had Morphine before, its very strong and yeah away from the fairy's.

Rino for ref Cortisone doesnt actually do anything other than reduce internal swelling, after 6 weeks normally the swelling will come back, its probably best to get to the route of the problem I would think. Certaintly that was the case for me with my lower back, had a cortisone shot into the disc of my L5S1 and it didnt do anything for it.
