Mazda 121 Bubble front speakers

Hey guys,

I know this is an MPS forum but I may have more luck here than other forums I'm on lol. Anyway, the missus just bought a 1997 Mazda 121 Bubble for her first car. I've had a quick look at the audio (in the dark) however would like some confirmation. I want to surprise her with an upgraded audio system. Nice Cd player, single 12" sub and some upgraded speakers. I'm pretty sure the rears are 6x9s but I'm a bit confused with the fronts (as I didnt get a good look and I havent been able to pull the door skin off - currently keeping the car at her mothers). I'm thinking theyre 5.25" but can anyone confirm?

most mazdas of that era are 5x7s or 5in round.

Sweet. Cheers for that. I'll probably hold back and see if I can pick it up and pull it apart next weekend.

get 6" and use a spacer? shouldn't be too hard to make MDF spacers. just long as there is enough space behind the door card. Also will be much more options, esp if its 5x7
