Default Drivers side window auto up, then goes half way down by itself

my drivers side window is doing funny things. When I make it go auto up, it goes up then goes half way down by itself. getting bloody annoying and have no idea whats going on

I read this happened to someone, but cant find the thread. might not have been these forums...

    anyway, anyone got any clues?

Is there something blocking the path of the window? The safety feature in the electric windows does not allow it to be closed when the path is blocked eg. by a body part etc Check that first then maybe open up the door skin and look at the path down there.

Happened in the SP25, took it back to Mazda, and turns out the motor went dicky.

Try the old disconnect / reconnect the battery trick, this will reset the auto mode of the window.

back from service. nothing sinister with the window. they adjusted the window and reset the power window module. all fine. just hope its not a bandaid fix to a real problem if it exists...
