Not sure if anyone has bought a clutch from the US but this is my story. Bought a ACT clutch from teh US but hit a problem, the clutch didnt work and caused a small accident. Turns out that the flywheel was 15-20mm thinner and caused the clutch slave cylinder to hyper extend, the rod and piston dropped out and no clutch. BUT BUT the fluid than ran out through the piston, the same fluid supplies the brakes.. YEP you guessed it no brakes...photos included so

You can see how much shorter the flywheel is, it made all the difference....

Is the replacement dual mass as well?
Cant see how LHD or RHD would make a difference to the engine/tranny layout.
Interesting...

Im now running a spec clutch and fidenza fly wheel.

And what did the manufacturer say?

That it will fit.. Im waiting for the reports from the clutch specialist, Aaron has them.. i will send, Than they will make a verdict
It does make sense though doesn't it?, Since a dual mass fly is thicker.. when you replace it with a normal flywheel, to compensate for the thickness the clutch pedal will travel further .. Im guessing if the flywheel was bundled with a clutch kit, they would have redisgned the pressure plate to compensate for the extra play?

hmmm... I've fitted the ACT clutch kit + flywheel about 5000km ago... I haven't had any problems so far, and my car's a daily driver. Should I be worried?

Maybe different throw out bearing or clutch fork????
it has happened to me in the past with the Datto, did a 4spd to 5spd swap and had the same thing happen tho the clutch master and brake master were separate, i kept the 4spd throw out bearing and fork, it fixed the problem.
