Interesting, I didn't know they sold an extended warranty, might have to look up on that considering I won't even hit 15000km when my warranty expires.

Hey mate, was Wood Bros Mazda who informed me of this, assuming all dealers would have it available? If you're up for a cruise, check out the cruises section - May 3rd afternoon down to Mandurah, would be good to catch up![]()

Could you find more info on the higher strength bolts, cost and who we can buy them from. I have nightmares about shearing off my bolts due to my 4k launching.
Offtopic: Yeah I'll probably be down for the cruise, it will be a good chance to test out my new coilies.

Spoke to the dealer, very helpful with info (must be long weekend coming up) anyway
The bolts are 12x40 Metric fine 8:8 High Tensile Steel Part # MF1240 (not sure of cost) from

Hi everyone long time no post, well I moved to SA now from vic so hello all MPS owners in SA you will know my ride when seen, grey MPS6 with madusa 19 rims and no arse end plastic due to corksport 3inch melting the crap out of it, and a large green sticker on the black as tint on the rear window saying dgdonline.com.au. Anyway just got home the other day and noticed some clunking from the rear. during a test to hear exactly where it was coming from I noticed 2 bolt heads sitting in the drive way. Anyway the sound was almost definitely coming from the tail shaft or diff so up on a tow truck and down to paradise mazda for look see, barstards gave me a 121 from the 80's as a loaner. The only thing I can think of is a couple of launches against a few 8 recently, as I love to put those guys in there spot. 1 launch I stuffed up completely ending in a smoked clutch, very painful the smell lasted 1.5 hours just to remind me to be precise. Dont get my ride back till after wednesday, this 121 auto is a real smack in the face for me 0-50 takes about 30 seconds.
How does the non MPS world live... Anyone else had or hears about this rear end issue?

not good news about your MPS, sorry to hear.
about your loan car though, how much will u love the beast once u get it back.
Good to see you keeping those 8's in their place too ... maybe Shakesphere had something like this recently, not sure if its the same thing

Loving My Forester![]()

So you've sheered the front diff mount bolts? These are notorious for backing out then sheering off.
I guess the best defense is to ask the service department to torque them at each service.
Another thing worth mentioning is that there are two rotational failure modes at the rear diff and the rear diff mount marketed by cpe etc only addresses one of the failure modes.

Swallowtail did his suspension bolts. Another regular failure.

Hi Darklord, I did my forward diff mount bolts recently too, here's my thread

My problem was all fixed within a day as posted above.
Let me know how yours goes, I may end up merging these two threads and starting a new one under "MPS6 Differential"
Cheers
Chris

I guess I will see what they say, will post the result.

Thanks Shakespeare, your explanation sounds exactly the same. Due to the ride height I could not get my fat head under the car far enough to see any damage. That being said it sounds to similar to me. So my bet is it will be posted as the same result. Will keep it posted. The dealer was funny though. Dont think that dealer see's to many MPS's like this 1, I hope they dont try any driver abuse crap on me like ford did once. I have had pretty good service up till now. All faults being fixed under warranty. Turns out I got the extended warranty as well so Im good to 2010. Love it.
