    Default Pulleys / Belt

I have been noticing this hissing noise coming from the pulleys recently and it's just doing my head in, it's louder as the revs rise.

It's that noise that sounds like metal brushing against another bit of metal. I've taken it to Mazda and they said it's normal, meant to be like that blah blah.

But when I first got the car it didn't make the noise. And other members on here have told me they don't have this noise.

Was thinking about replacing them with aftermarket pulley kits... would there be any issues?

Your local Mazda said that's normal? Take it somewhere else...

Hey Fellas, drop around to my place and I will check it out for you. ( I should, but cant promise, be able to tell you the issue) May be bearings, may be old belts etc.. I have a couple of diagnostic techniques if you want.
As for aftermarket stuff, I am unsure, but it cant help to see if they help, especially if they are lighter!

Yeah mine has always made a bit of a hiss. I did think it was bearings or something but I dissmissed it and left it.

I do wonder if yours is louder than others though. Would be good to compare on the next social meet for WA guys

That could be a good thing. If you guys are keen I am happy to have a informal meet at my place, and then you can compare all of them to a bog std perfect example of a motorcar!! Apart from being really dirty, Sorry about that last night Andre..
