Default MPS 6 Transfer Case problem

I have a chipped gear in my transfer unit, looking to replace whole unit as will be less labour intensive though finding the transfer unit second hand is a difficult task. Found one place that is looking at $1250, not sure if this is a good price or not for a second hand unit?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

There is a ticking sound, happens when moving whether under load or not. I've had it in at a Mazda mechanic whom is a mate of mine, they removed something that drives the back wheels and noise stopped. Also had it on the hoist, and did a few other checks along with changing the oil in the transfer, it came out a lovely silver colour.

I'm definately on the look out for a used Transfer unit, it's pretty much crapped itself. Drove up the road the other day and went to take off around a corner (slowly) and there was a big crunch and a rattle. Seemed to right itself enough to get it home. Anyone hear of one it'd be highly appreciated. Up until then I'm getting a mazda mate to pull it apart and see how much has gone wrong.
