    Certainly does.

Well, to those with the skills a rotary is easier. But a rotary in the hands of average Joe can be dangerous. An RO is safe, even someone who hasn't used one before will pick it up in 5 minutes and they can achieve fantasitic results too.

I too have watermarks on my roof. I find it strange because my car is washed every week or fortnight and waxed every second wash and garaged. How does it appear, is it a mazda paint problem?

So if buffing with hand and machine does not work, it is off to the professional detailer for me?

Um ...again hopefully dan or joel will jump in with an answer.
But its my understanding that tap/rain water contains minerals. When the water is left to dry, the water evaporates leaving the minerals on the suface in the shape of a ring! Theese can be removed with a damp MF or quick detailer. The mineral content of the water/rain dicates how hard the origional spots are to remove.

When the minerals harden the become harder to remove. Thats when the use of a water mark/spot remover or vingar could be used.

Than if left on the paint for some time thats when you get mineral etching, Where the minerals eat away at the clear coat. These need to be corrected using a paint abrasive either by hand or machine to level the clear coat. The severity would be based on, How hard/soft the paint is, how long they were on there for and how "hard" the water is.

In your case the water marks or etching could of been there since you bought the car and were possibly just hidden by fillers?

If you have a machine polisher, try and buff them out if not then seek professional help

Menzerna by machine. Dodo Lime Prime both (it says that in the product description).

All the info in this thread is telling you what needs to be done. You're kidding yourself if you think you'll get a good finish by hand unless you want to use fillers.

In fact, when customers ask for product recommendations to do a complete swirl removal by hand, I tell them we can't help them.

You can use the low cut menzernas by hand, like 85RD but as Joel said you have no hope of fixing the marks by hand. If your generous with the lime prime and wipe it over, rather than working it in then you can get it to fill and thats the only chance you have got.

Or get some Banana Gloss and fill the marks in
