No the ecu will never learn about the VTA unless it's retuned by someone. You're also running slightly lean anytime you reduce throttle.
+1 on just buying a hot air intake.

That's how I roll - 2500 rpm all the way down the freeway. I even got tuned so I could get better fuel economy
It's pretty simple to take off and put back on - you should be able to handle it with a couple of tools.
What are you waiting for, go install it nao!
It should be dyno'd in 4th gear anyway for a more accurate result, 3rd gear has a ratio of 1.366 while fourth is 1.025.
Given you have another car, I wouldn't be driving the 6. Something you might want to check though, I had a similar issue when my BPV came off one time. If there's any sizeable leak between the turbo...
Any SRI or CAI will increase the sound (the metallic ones seem to be louder) of the BPV including the stock BPV. VTA untuned is generally not recommended as you will during shift changes (while on...
If you want to bring it round today after work, I can have a look at it to check the install first.
I was thinking of picking up two GTX 560 for SLI, but I've read that the new Nvidia series is coming out early next year.
I hate EA as much as the next guy (especially after the Porsche thing), but I won't deprive myself of an awesome multiplayer game. I ordered from Ozgameshop which shipped last night so I'm hoping to...
I've been suckered in before when I bought Forza 3 and all the DLC as they were released, only to have them release the GOTY edition down the track with the game and all DLC for like $40. I'm going...
Then there's really no reason to not go progressive, other than the psychological reason of "hardcore is better". The progressive Eibach springs will suit you fine if it's purely for everyday road...
Even coilovers can have parts fitted to them to allow them to be progressive: Swift Springs USA
What exactly are the reasons why you're looking to change the springs? If you're going to track your...
I don't think more air is released. If you have a long hose or a short host, turn it on for 5 seconds, you're going to get the same amount of water coming out from each. Since the pressure in the IC...
Noone can really tell you why unless you had some dyno info for the gen1 and could compare it with your gen2. Could just be the tune in the gen2.
The boost falloff at redline is more to do with the stock tune than the turbo.
Is the performance gain double that of the TMIC, since that's the price difference?
Why would an FMIC make it sound louder?
Check for leaks between the BPV and recirculation hose/pipe.
You could always just get the below for 1 grand 18 x 8.5.

I disagree. They should be getting it at a lower price than consumers (as they take load off the manufacturer) and be able to charge similar prices to the manufacturer. This is how rpmstore and...
It's kinda too late now as they are the distributor for Aus, everything will have to go through them. Might be worth someone contacting BNR directly and see if they will still deal directly with...
Is there anyway to remove the ability for people to use white text. I can't count the number of posts I've thought I read through only to discover they used white text in parts of the post and I...
I've got the Rota 18x9 and they weighed 10.8kg IIRC.
Which is better for what? You can't just say one is better than another without knowing the judging criteria.
