I think the post was deffo required & timely considering the issues that have been arising.

It is important to think before we hit the post button & ensure our posts can't be misconstrued, or "taken another way that might cause offense"

Ultimately, we're all here for more or less the same reason, interaction with other like minded people, to obtain information & knowledge, with having a social aspect to it

My 2 cents worth - I think seriously are we children ... its like school yard all over again .. I don't like what ur saying so im gonna pull ur hair call you names and then run away !! .. FFS We are all adults (cept Brad ) ... if someone disagrees with you dont take it personally, its only their opinion .. Dont take urself or others too seriously and dont think just cause u love your car etc that others have too .. This is starting to be like every club I have had anything to do with .. you have a good bunch of general ppl then you have the odd few who are here to stir the pot and look for reasons to have a go .. I think every one of us needs to take responsibility for our own actions IE If your drinkin excessively dont get on here, if your having personal issues and feeling a lil fragile dont get on here, if your in a shit stirring mood and wanna have some fun dont get on here ..

I used to visit this forum daily and sit in chatbox every nite but my visits have been declining due to the few shit stirrers - banter is good so long as its not PERSONAL attacks ..

Banter is the best, but one of the most annoying things on this forum is the people who get on here and whinge.... Like what Dee said above, we are all adults act like it rather than children. Sorry, but I hear enough whinging @ work, don't want to come on here and listen to people whinge about crap.

And for goodness sake stop the PM's to people having a go at people because they offer an opinion different to your own.

I reckon the only way to keep this forum fair is if people are having a go @ others, Publicly flame them! Put people back in their box! Cause next time they won't be stupid if the community lets them know what they think of them.

Some of the threads closed recently, I think should have remained open to actually get a result to the discussion, but they were closed and everything gets bottled up and it goes no where. Let the discussions take their courses(fine to delete posts, or even edit their posts if they get too personal), but don't close the thread.

Admin's and Mods are doing a good job, just a little too trigger happy if you ask me!

Anyways thats my 2 cents.

Nirvys nailed it its a great club lets keep it that way nobody actually wins with personal attacks if your not happy with something p/m the member thus keeping your issue with that person off the forum .

From a member who has had his fair share of personal attacks and was in the wrong to retaliate on line I apologise to my fellow members.

I hate to be the devil's avocado here but as a relatively new member of the forums I haven't really noticed any overtly nasty and I have been actively keeping up with most of the new posts as I try to absorb as much as I can about the MPS and the community here.

It's possible of course, that I have different ideas as to what constitutes a personal attack/nastiness.

Bravo for taking a stand anyway, it's good to see we have admins who care and are willing to make sure the community keeps with the established standards.

On a whole the OzMPS community is friendly place to visit and Rowan you have delivered a well written and straight to the point inclusion to the rules..

Members we as the ozmps staff don't always like to pull members into line but on occasions it is necessary so when it does happen we aren't oga's its just part of the position we hold..

Im relative old member and I gotta agree with you, the matter isnt anywhere near to "panic" like this.

As someone who was directly on the recieving end of what Rowan describes, thanks for posting this and I appreciate it.

I wasn't going to return to OzMPSclub, and it took a deep sigh to click the bookmark coming back here tonight but I enjoy the interaction and it would be a shame to leave due to the actions of a few.

Remember, the people who post on here are people too. If you have a massive issue with what they post, maybe send them a quick PM first saying "hey I disagree with what you've posted on thread XYZ, before I reply can we chat about it?". It's just a suggestion but I know in my case it would have nipped things in the bud before severe personal slander was directed at me in the forum.

I've been here since Day 1, member 13 or something from memory, and was involved in the very early days as a mod thanks to Rowan and Doug. I was very disappointed to be so blatantly attacked in an open forum for passing on information related to the thread I replied in.

Quite frankly, that stuff is just not on. As someone mentioned earlier, we're all here to enjoy the company of like minded people who have an interest in the MPS vehicles. We're not going to agree all of the time, and I myself have been guilty of throwing fuel on the fire on certain occasions...

Keep it civil and if you wouldn't say it to my face, don't say it to me in here...I guess that's the gist of what I'm trying to pass on...

You're pretty new to the internet, hey?

In all seriousness, the internet is founded on a basis of people being able to hide behind their keyboard and say things which they would not normally say face to face, call it anything from cowardly to empowering, it is what is it is.

I do agree that everyone has a different tolerance for this sort of thing and while I always try to stay within the bounds of what I personally think is acceptable (and always err on the side of caution), obviously this will fall out of bounds for any number of people.

Being able to meter and adjust your behaviour on forums is factor of age, experience and self control, not everyone has an abundance of these.

So please try to remember that when reacting to someone else who you think is being personally insulting, chances are they're just a pathetic sweaty virgin in their pyjamas at 2pm, sitting in their mothers damp dark basement posting on an internet forum, rather than getting indignant and sulking just have pity on them and move on.
