Changes made to new ads, thanks to your feedback

Hi all,

Thank you all for the feedback in our other thread about our new ads.

We have taken on board your comments and made the following changes:

VIP Members
By default, VIP Members have the ads disabled on their account and will not see the 3rd party ads in the first and last post on every page. If you don't mind having the ads there and wish to help support the site further, you can let me know via this thread or PM if you would like to "Opt In" to the advertising. This is completely your choice. If you are a VIP Member, the ads will already be disabled for you. Please let me know if they aren't.

Footer Banner
To make up the page impressions, I have replaced the footer banner that used to display forum sponsor banners with a 3rd party flash banner. This will appear on all pages for all members just like the old one did. It's not in the way, and shouldn't cause too many issues. Sponsors will continue to have the prime leaderboard position above the forum.

All Other Members
Other members will continue to see both square ads in the first and last post of all threads. However, I am considering reducing this to just the one in the first post.

Unregistered Members
Currently, unregistered members see the same amount of ads as non-VIP members. This is why I was going to reduce the load on non-VIP members. The other option may be to introduce one other ad, but I'm not really a fan of doing this.

I would like to hear your thoughts on these changes, again keeping in mind our reasons for introducing the advertising in the first place (which you can read here.)

Rowan, just refresh me, but how do they work as far as raising revenue? If I click them, do OZMPSCLUB get extra cash?

If so, I'll opt in.

If not, I'll opt out.
