    Default DP review.....finally

Well this has been a week or so coming, sorry for the late review.....not the best with wording how things feel (tech term illiterate sometimes)

So about 2 weeks agao I got a new 2XS twin DP fitted by no other then Troy himself.

Firstly: For those of you who may be into the aesthetics of a product it certainly looks the part although is not visible unless under the car but it ticks the box anyway.

Secondly: As I said I am sometimes Tech Terms Illiterate, so hang with me. The sound over the stock DP is noticable, but, in saying that is not that great a difference, so for those of you who are after the stealth effect then you will love it. It has a noticable louder note on warm up, but, when warm is no louder then the standard item, and when putting the boot in, is just noticable. Ok, so there are the people out there saying "hang on, I want a nice note", so for you out there I am more then sure that when added with a system (2XS system in developement) this DP will fullfill all the requirements in the sound deapartment as the rumble it puts out on warm gives you cheeky grin that says "ahhh thats guna sound good."
(yes I like a car with a nice note, I am not about stealth in that respect, although I like it to sound good when under power and stealth when everyday driving)

Thirdly: Ok, now for the important stuff....Power. So the power increase I had already with the 2XS FMIC and SRI was already enough to put a smile wider than the grand canyon on your face (but lets face it these cars do that from stock). So the first day I had this DP on, you guessed it...it was raining and I was dissapointed to say the least as traction is already an issue. So after the rain cleared, almost a week later, I went for a drive to Toowoomba to pick up my girlfriend and all I can say is WOW. Driving from my house to get to the motorway I was not nice on my poor little car, my foot was flat as I was super keen to check out my new toy. I let my car warm up for a good 10 minutes before driving then let it get warm driving first, then the first set of lights after I gave it to her, FIRST very little difference as it is so quick and with the limits placed by the ECU, was not noticable, SECOND the normal traction issue, but, when she dug in my face lit up and I almost my pants, it was so like another car the power increase was like it had another motor but then THIRD...... and if I thought second was like a new car, third was like something totally different again, power was there right from the second I snapped to third, right through the rev range, it's so good I swear I could hear my heart beat over the sound of the reving engine as the adrenalin was pumping and the smile on my face would have looked like the type an evil super villain has when plotting an evil plan. I will also add traction was still an issue, worse then normal. When FOURTH gear came around I thought there could not be anymore to give, but.....I was wrong there was just more...and more.

I have heard people talk about the power increase from a DP being rediculous and they are right and the 2XS DP most definately fits this bill, I can't talk for any other DP and have not been in any other MPS with these mods to compare, but, to compare standard to now, and add the 20KW gain at around the 3000rpm range it certainly does more then what you would expect. As for the rest of the drive well you can see how it would have gone....well till I picked up my girlfriend anyway, then it was responsible boyfriend ha ha

If anyone is looking to get a DP I cannot say enough about this product I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone, if not for the brilliant perfromance increase it is a local product from a local guy who knows pretty much everything there is to know about these cars and is always more then willing to give advice about them.

Cheers to Troy a brilliant product.

NEXT: 2XS sytem/manifold/TIP not sure what order but will let you know when it happens.

Boost comes on 250 RPM earlier and no boost spike at 5300rpm

    Thanks.

It's always good to see the efforts I put into racing and winning, pays off when I produce my own products and the dyno sheet is more proof too. (before and after)

Troy, just for people that have this up and coming question on there mind (like me lol).

What are the benefits between the twin dp and the larger bellmouth dp? Does one have higher peak power and less down low or are they both the same with just a noise difference?

I'm just planning for future , currently very happy with mid range in my car and looking for a little more peak ie power from above 5,000rpm.

The twin DP will bring boost on quicker and hold boost for longer. Making power quicker and likely more than the bellmouth.

Generally they will have very similar peak power levels. The bellmouth will have less if anything.

Pending the twin DP is manufactured correctly. Eg: Wasegate pipe not too small etc. If it is made wrong, it can cause boost spikes and fluctuations.
