    Default Review: 2XS Race Pipe.

Just had the Race Pipe installed this morning and went for a blast over Nebo/Glorious... In 5th gear, with ease.

    Relevant Mods (For comparison):
    -K&N Panel Filter (Modified Airbox).
    -Hypertech Flash.
-2XS Race Pipe with stock exhaust.

-Exhaust note and volume remain stock.
-More power and less hesitation all the way to 6,000rpm. Power gains may be negligible as the rest of the system restricts flow.
-Torque comes on strong by 2,500rpm.
-Increased driveability, earlier and smoother overall delivery.
-Response is sharper again on top of the Hypertech.

Verdict: Worth it if you're after better response, but will ideally complement a system that has good flow (Turbo Manifold, DP & Muffler) for gains.

Care to elaborate on these airbox mods?

Read a thread around here somewhere about airbox mods... can't seem to find it now... :S

Will this pipe fit a 6? Potential issues with the authoritahs?

    Cheers,

    Chris.

The MPS3 (Not sure about the 6) has a cold air duct that goes from the plastic mesh part of the frontbar to the passenger's side front quarter panel. My airbox mod was cutting a large hole in the side of the airbox to allow this cold air a path in. As for the Race Pipe fitting the 6, I'm not sure... Sorry.

Authoritah wise - Illegal, but unless they own an MPS3 or 6 themselves, it's very hard for them to tell, and even then they'd have to lay under your car to look. The stock cat sits up underneath chassis bracing on the MPS3.

    3 and 6 are different.

I'll do a 6 race pipe if I get a std DP and cat.

Troy, I got a race pipe section from BM which sounded fun at the time. I wouldn't consider EVER installing it with the amount of CEL's I get at the moment. Would yours run CEL free on a GENII?

This style of race pipe is designed to fit after the std DP (with CAT) It is a second CAT delete pipe.

If/When you decide to move your O2 sensor, I can design an O2 sensor mount that "fixes" your CEL problem aswell.

$200 including postage and packaging, or,

$150 after exchange for your original pipe.

Ok, it's not just in my head. I'm seeing a ~1PSI gain in boost after the race pipe went in. The figure seems to be 17.7PSI, where before it was about 17PSI.
