Seems you guys are after an affordable front number plate holder for the Gen 2, to remove the "mole nose"
Pics of the style you want, think may look good and/or will buy.

I'm running a getto setup. Mole nose already removed, just used some small threaded bolts. Totally up for a black or dark grey powdercoated setup. I just want it to sit flat on the bumper.
I have a small QLD plate. I guess you'll need a few combos to suit different states, but up for a trial.
I think this photo might be really small, bur see how it's made? It's just a backing plate. Doesn't have a surround which is fine for me. A surround might make it a bit thick.
Id go a clear plastic cover though, but that might be stretching initial design parameters for the moment
There are 2 massive locating holes high on the bumper and 2 smaller ones where the rivets went.
This is my current setup. Don't like it. Doesn't sit flat.
Perfect location. Larkin plate.

Boss: Okay, I mean, we can see your bulge.
Dale: Okay, first of all, they're extremely comfortable. And second of all, at this point in your life, if you haven't seen a bulge, well, I just feel sorry for you.

GEN 1 to plz Troy, Using the tow plate. If you can make it flash
im in

Hey, that's Leelmo. Lakin actually went out and measured a holder up for me when I contacted them as they hadn't done one yet. I just love the flat design plate holder, didn't like the price so much, but service was great and I'm glad I did it. A must for Gen 2's!!!
I'm sure Troy can come up with something just as good.

On the Gen 1, you can remove the factory bracket and the number plate will bolt back onto the front bar with no extra brackets required.
As for the tow hook idea, the thread is the issue, you need locating pins to stop it falling. The number plate also sits on the wrong side for legal reasons.
The Gen 2 can get a tow hook style (passenger side) and doesn't look that bad. No point though unless you get a FMIC.
